Two Plates in one Dig
« on: July 14, 2013, 06:41:36 PM »
Posting a pic from one of my last digs in the Spring.
Dug a railroad plate from the Port Hudson & Clinton RR, etablished 1833.
Of source at about a foot I was already counting on a shell!
A few minutes later I got the breast plate.

Since I like to keep a theme when I dig, the next hunt I found about a 5" section of rail to go with the railroad
plate. Glad it wasnt an 8' section!

Awesome.  Congrats.

Must be hotter than Hades now and fairly overgrown so presumably no digging for a while.  So....come see us in Marietta.  No boring old museums this year -- we are firing cannon!

I'd like to get a very short section of that fairly unique flat rail they used down there.  If you or Ronnie come across a piece 2' or shorter that is a spare, drop me a line.

thanks Mike.
We're considering trying to get to Marrieta.

See what we can come up with on the rail for you.
I've got an extra plate for you. That was my third one to dig there.
