Does anyone know of a picture of a cross sectioned 3" Archer shell?
Thank you

I have one that naturally blew in half right down the vertical axis that I'll send you a picture of when I get a chance, Jim

Hi Mike,
would love to see the Archer.  Do you know if any had a percussion fuze or just wooden adapters and the one Bormann fuzed?
Regards,
John

Mike,
Thank you for the great post.  Do you know if it was case shot or shell?
Regards,
John

It's a common shell recovered in West Virginia

Mike, that thing looks like a Baby Hog with the groove pattern. You sure that wasn't dug in Arkansas? ::)

Everything looks like a bullet to you.  I am concerned about your fetish and to paraphrase Freud, "sometimes a shell is just a shell."

Back me up on this, Dr. Beach.  ETEX needs professional help.

Well, let me think about this.  Hmm . . . while lead poisoning itself can lead one to some interesting misperceptions of reality, I am thinking of championing a new diagnosis for inclusion in the future DSM-V . . . “Folie Missile.”  But this is indeed an interesting case, and it may be that our patient is suffering from simple Projectile Dysfunction.

Wow, all theses years and I finally know what is wrong with me "Projectile Dysfunction". Mike I appreciate you soliciting help on my part and Doc, can't thank ya enough. I better go eat some craw-dad tails and oysters while reading the M&M, T&T Handbook, Tom Stelma's, and RBTRF I through IV cause I heard that will help the "Projectile Dysfuntion".  :o

Mike,
Is this specimen the same as your grag?

P.S. The Tie-ring term is not mine. I don't believe they were fixed ammo.

ETEX,

Better to have an SPD than an STD. Could have been worse, you could have had CB , cannister balls, which can lead to premature detonation.
