I bought this one more for the fuse which unscrews. Unfortunately, I do not have time to take more pictures now..

Nice clear "sizer forcing die" streaks on that Parrott shell's sides.

I had read about working the nose part of the casting to accommodate?( spelling) the fuse, causing some shells to slightly vary in length, is that what I'm seeing on the nose of this shell?. You guys always find great stuff!!!!

Can you show and tell us about this Cylinder?
Was this projectile fired? I can't quite make out the sabot?

It doesn't come out so its shown about as best I can do. Not sure what there is to tell. I think at another angle we might be able to see a case shot ball or two peeking from behind the tin cylinder, but I'll have to take that picture later when not working.

Okay, that explains the cyulinder. When you get home can you give us its diameter. Thanks for posting it, really nice specimen and fuse adapter too.

Specs:
12 1/8” long without fuse. Add another 3/16” for lip of fuse
5 3/16” diameter
1 3/8” diameter fuse hole…Fuse adapter is the exact one shown on top of page 78 in Jones. Fuse weighs 13.2oz
Shell weighs 44lbs 4oz without the fuse
