Joe, I am a member for a few years now.   I do not participate in their meetings, which are multi day affairs with behind the scene access to museums and such. I  am not yet retired, I don't have the time to get away. .This years annual meeting is at Gettysburg.  There are chapters that hold their own weekend retreats also.
Their quarterly magazine is scholarly in nature. Some articles are quite interesting and very thorough, some are not in my interest and I pass over. Overall, I think worth the money........

Except for the "retired" part, "ditto".

The only reason I ask is that someone bought me a membership.  I've seen and admired some of their publications in the past.
