M1863 Musket Combo Tool
« on: March 01, 2013, 07:03:52 PM »
I dug an interesting find near Culpeper, VA today.  I was not sure if it was junk or not, but I did some research and learned that it is a iron, two-blade combination nipple wrench / tool, produced for the M1863 Springfield Musket.  It has the open ended nipple wrench with the two screwdriver blades. It was one of the most common Federal gun tools of the Civil War, the M1863 Combo Tool saw heavy production thru out the war.
