Displaying Cannon Balls

(1/2) > >>

CarlS:
I thought I'd share with you this new way of displaying cannon balls that a local collector has gone with.  Doesn't have to worry about this one rolling off the shelf and landing on his toe!  Also, a plus is there is no doubt by local authorities about the shell being disarmed!

Anyone wanting to purchase this service just let me know.   ;D

Now Carl you know that collectors and historians refer to this one as a U.S. 24 pdr spherical case shot and not a mere 'Cannon Ball'.  :)

CarlS:
It's a 'ball' fired from a cannon and hence the generic catagory of cannon ball.  When asked what type of cannon ball the answer would most certainly be "a U.S. 24 pdr spherical common shell" as, in this example, there was no evidence of it being case and wall thickness would seem to indicate it being a commom shell.

I  know you know, see my smiley face.
