This News-report from Reuters News Agency says it was a "homemade" cannon.

Probable reason it blew up is that its builder was using fireworks powder in it, not simple low-yield Blackpowder.

Mike

When you go to all of the shows and are travelling how do you behave in front of company? After reading Carl's comments it just makes me kind of wonder.  ???

Nowhere near there, but what a drunken screw up.

I did go out with our buddy Ken last weekend and we blasted away (soberly) with our shotguns.  My shoulder has recovered only today, but the new addition, a Benelli Montefeltro Silver Edition 20 gauge, is a keeper.

While there I paid a visit to my cannon and it is still intact.  Here's a muzzle shot showing the right hand twist
