Mount Pleasant Cartridge Company
« on: September 20, 2011, 12:44:25 PM »
Here's a bit of information to pass along for the benefit of the group.  I was recently contacted by a collector who wanted info about the following items.  He also wondered why these items were not in our books.

The ammunition is a .58 caliber 3-ringer made up similar to Hazard cartridges.  That being a pressed powder cake glued to the bullet and covered in collodion.  Unfortunately, according to Dean, the Mt. Pleasant Cartridge Co. made these in the 1950s or 60s for modern shooters.

So, everything is not as old as it appears!

I saw one of those on ebay and tried to contact the seller. I never heard a response.
