Interesting sectioned polygonal shell

I just got this sectioned shell.  I have not had time to clean it, but it is a 12pdr with the diamond shaped pieces.  What I think is neat is how the pin that held the sand core is visible through a "window" that is a gas pocket in the iron opposite the fuse (eg., on the shell bottom).

That is cool!  I don't think I've seen that before.  Also neat how the point of the cut almost made a perfect square of the chamber.
