Title: Wanted: Anvil Cap for 7" James Shell
Post by: 24thMichigan on March 25, 2017, 12:31:54 PM
Will pay good $$$ for fuze in excellent condition.  The hole I am trying to fill is 1" diameter, 18 threads per inch.  Thank you.

I think you just want the anvil cap portion that looks like this but is larger"

When you get a chance, please carefully measure the diameter at the threads you want because I have found these to come in a frustrating range of sizes.

I really need to find one of these folks!  Will pay a somewhat ridiculous price if anyone locates it.  Thanks.

They are super hard to come by as most were fired into swamps, etc. so most ones not in a shell are out there.  Thus compared to the typical size it will be a ridiculous price unless you get lucky.  I remember seeing one for sale and like an idiot, as I had just bought a 7-inch shell for my collection, I did not buy it.   :-\
