Title: CSA Morse/TS 01-074/RBTRF4 190

Okay diggers and collectors. Who has this bullet in their collection or who has dug this bullet? Any information would be appreciated. I have a hole in my collection waiting to be filled and quite frankly don't recall ever seeing a Morse for sale. Any information on locations, troops association, or other information would be greatly appreciated.

I saw one for sale on eBay a couple years ago.  Bill Ewing bought it.  Jim got one at a show a little before that.  I have seen a few dug in complete cartridges and one was offered for sale about that time and bought by a SC collector who had two fo the carbines.  All are from South Carolina cavalry sites as far as I know.  I do not have one in my collection.

  ETEX, I bought-and-sold one, almost 30 years ago.  I got it from Terry Moore in Hamlet NC.  If I recall correctly, he said it was dug in a CS camp at Cheraw, SC.

Hello,

I was fortunate to have one of these in my possession for a short time and it is one great bullet to have but I never have been able to obtain one for my collection.

All the information I have come across from various diggers is that it has been found in South Carolina CSA cavalry camps as far as I know.

I have seen several complete cartridges both dug and non-dug and aa few cartridge casings without the bullet and the cartridge case had no precussion cap in place.

It is a great bullet to have. :D

The .50 cal. Morse is cool.  I bought my bullet at the Gettysburg relic show for $175.  I think I spent more for the cartridge, but bought it a zillion years ago from the digger.  Many came from around Bentonville, NC.

  I appreciate the information on locales. It looks like that hole in the collection will be sitting there as long as the one for the 52 Calber Fagan.
