Title: Pattison Bolt

Someone stopped into the shop today asking for information about the Pattison Bolt.  So what do you iron mongers have to offer?  The specimen he has came from his family in Kentucky and say it is similar to the one in Pete's book on page 233, except that his specimen is significantly shorter. Hopefully he will add photos and dimensions to this post.

It seems this uncommon projectile came in at least 3 different sizes:

I am not aware of any being used outside of the State of New York (esp., West Point test range cited in the article).

Sorry about the delay but here is my Pattison bolt. Size 5.1110" by 2.35". Weighs 4lb 1 3/8 oz.

This is my piece of a Pattison. I've had it about 25 years and when I bought it I didn't think I would ever get a complete one. I was right. This one is from Drewrey's Bluff according to Jack Melton who sold it to me.
