Title: Bullet Type Please
Post by: ColtsPop on May 03, 2023, 07:55:57 PM
From a Civil War site, 224.6 grain, .454 in diameter, .64 in long.  Resembles ?Remington? in the Thomas handbook.  Please, I know nothing about it, enlighten me!

Look at bullet 38C in your Thomas Handbook.

I'm pretty sure that's it.

Agree, yes.  I am interested in who made it, was it US or CS, it?s correct name, rarity, etc.

Thanks

I'm not sure anybody really knows.  You'll note that in the Thomas Handbook, it states that it's origin is unknown.

It's been suggested that it's from the St. Louis Arsenal, but I don't think it's been proven.
