Title: 2.65in Read
Post by: emike123 on February 20, 2012, 11:31:48 AM
Another shell I just catalogued, a 2.65" Read/  See page 237 in 1993 D&G:

At the risk of re-opening the Blakely thread, in his book Pete surmises this was intended for use in a re-rifled 2.5in Blakely gun.

Mike,
Is it my eyes or is the last view a little out of focus?  How about a straight on base view?

Thank you Mike.  A base view should be part of your catalog.

Cute shell! The little ones are neater than the big ones alot of the time. Is it me, or does this almost look like a sleeved pattern shell ? ( not sure thats the right term)

Yes the last posts on Blakely's did get a little confusing, which was why I was asking about tube sizes vs shell sizes. I think it's clear that different rounds were used in blakely guns, and the shell under discussion was used in other guns besides Blakely's . seem's they interchanged alot as needed. I think we are all good at this point, keep sharing. I'd post some, but don't think I have any real rarities  lol, but love seeing yours
