All -

Here's another knee-jerk sensationalized article by the same folks who bring you all those "gun free zones".  I'm surprised that the mayor hasn't ordered the removal of ALL muzzle-loading historical ordnance in the city.  On the other hand that could be very interesting in itself.

I'd make a strong guess that the projectile was a "dangerous" 4 lb. solid shot, too!

    Run !!  Weapon of mass destruction found in Central park !!        By the looks of that cannon's condition - underwater for 100 years - that powder was probably East River mud that washed in through the vent hole.       Least EOD didn't blow up the cannon ' in the interest of public safety '
