3" proof round

Not ACW, but still interesting.  This is a 3" proof round fired to test field gun carriages in about 1908.  This is as found

Very neat.  I don't recall seeing a post ACW one before.  When you say "cooking", judging by the blow torch, you really mean cooking!

Actually, by cooking I meant reverse electrolysis.  After soaking in acetone to drive out the moisture, I used the torch to get rid the fumes and to heat the round so my secret preservative  would be absorbed properly.
