I'm looking in to building a cannister, and need to know the feasability of getting the balls inside.
will need several and thought this might be a good place to ask
.85 iron balls is my 1st preference, would need about 20
.85 lead balls , but would need 27 and these are I heard very rara
.65 lead (69 cal?) drops would be my 2nd, will need 84
not sure which way to go yet, would like to know whats available. Thanks

The lead musket balls in 0.65" caliber are very plentiful. You'd want white ones for the outside layer. You should be able to get this many for $50-75 from a number of places. These are what I used in reconstructing my 2.6" canister round.
You might get lucky at a show finding a bunch of the iron ones, but then you also have to run them.
I have a about half what you need in the 0.85" lead balls but, as you noted, finding the rest will probably be a challenge
