ALL American veterans deserve to be remembered. Thanks to all of you who gave all or any part of your lives in the service of our nation.

Thanks to all who sacrificed so much.

Bill,
I wasn't meaning to show a lack of appreciation for those in the military that did not die in service. As a "Navy Brat" with numerous family members who were or are in the military I very much appreciate our members of the armed services. This topic is on Memorial Day and it is a remembrance day for those who died and that is what I addressed my thoughts toward:

Veterans Day is the formal day set aside to remember all those who have served.

Carl,
You are, of course, right about the difference(s) between Veterans Day and Memorial Day. My reference was primarily to encourage people to acknowledge our Confederate dead as well. Too often they are ignored and forgotten by many. The "Thanks for your service" remark is something I do on each occasion where the opportunity to offer my appreciation arises.

Thanks Carl. We all need reminders.
