Click on the banner at the top of this page and it will take you to the commercial portion of the website.

On the left under "Resources" is a link to a document titled, "Bullet ID Document"

I see emike gave you the directions to reference material. I am curious if you have any of the listed reference books mentioned or not. If you will go back through the post and locate the taxonomy posted several months back I think you will find the taxonomy of M&M bullet numbers interesting and helpful.

Many thanks indeed for your replies. I will print off that reference sheet and read all about it. I've recently aquired also fragments of a 20lb Schenk shell which I will post shortly in the artillery section.
All the best.

Hi ETEX, unfortunately I do not own any reference books, they seem hard to come by here in the UK. I tried searching back to what you mentioned above but couldn't find them. What is the taxonomy of M&M bullet numbers please?
All the best.

Col without the MM book the taxonomy covering all of the MM bullets won't do you much good without the book and photos. An interesting post/thread on the Taxonomy of Trans-Mississippi Theatre bullets, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Missouri has photos of these unique bullets found to this theatre of the war. The Trans-Mississippi Taxonomy can be found on page 2 of bullets and last entry on Sept 8, 2012. A lot of the leadheads in the forum have more of an interest in this theatre than the others and most of the bullets listed have photos attached.
If you have any question on Trans-Mississippi bullets there are numerous experts on these bullets and I don't classify myself in the same league as some of these guys but post the questions and someone will have the answer.
