Early British Armstrong Percussion Fuze views;
« on: October 30, 2013, 01:14:57 PM »
To All Interested,
  Mike, below are hi-res views of your fuze posted on the Armstrong segment shell series.
I am not certain if it was designed to work in the segment shell.  I have seen it in the Woolwich system copper studded shells.
Regards,
John

I agree on the segmented shells not being used here and posted that in the other thread.  This piece I believe sat atop the other piece that is on the left side of the picture.  The one you are showing was in a Confederate fuse pouch that Rafael is selling now.  I tried to buy just the fuse from Jerry F. years ago but to no avail.  The shipping plug shown on the right was I suppose in the shells when they came over, with the fuse parts kept separately.

Do you know where Jerry obtained it still in its storage tin?  That is pretty damn rare.
That is a rare fuze, but in its tin its worth a lot more. Thery are difficult to locate even in the U.K.
Regards,
John

It was in that Confederate fuse pouch -- still for sale at a ridiculous price on Rafael's site -- when Jerry got the pouch.
