Touchy Subject with some
« on: August 15, 2012, 03:42:13 PM »
I am posting a beautiful MM-439 that was too nice when I got it. I have posted the after using a non-acetone product on the bullet and just watched the paint drip off.

Well fortunately for you there was a good bullet underneath. I think it is a shame to repair items. Is there any natural patina underneath or are those dots just not coming off?

Ian, the only natural patina is in the cavity where it wasn't painted and it is not a real heavy patina. I don't get it though why someone would paint a 50 to 60 dollar bullet. This has a great teat and even a rough chipped patina would make this a great bullet. But there are those that do some pretty stupid stuff.

Forrest Gump always said, "stupid is as stupid does." Bullets should not be repaired no matter how rare they are. The natural form is the best part about them. Finding that perfect one is just that much better.
