What are the micrometer reading for diameter and length, and the weight?

I am NOT an expert, but it could be a .52 Spencer Carbine

John,

Not sure what this one is either but I am still going through some of my reference books. My eyes aren't what they use to be but it appears to have a rebated base. I am not familiar with the post war Spencer's but the nose appears too rounded for a ACW Spencer.

I am pretty sure that is a solid base Gallager bullet. I have always thought they were Confederate based on where they have been found.

This is a strange one!  Gallager may be correct but I have been unable to ID it. Was not aware there was one with a solid base.

John,

Those ones haven't made it into a book yet. Here is a photo of one. It has a solid base.

Looks like this one is identified.  Always discounted Gallager because I never knew there was a flat base. Are they somewhat uncommon?

Thanks again,
John

They are uncommon. I have sold several examples from $75.00-$125.00

Ian,
You and I have discussed the solid base Gallager before but I don't remember where you told me most of those you are familiar with were dug. Can you refresh my memory.

Mike, all the ones I have had were dug in cs sites in the Shenandoah Valley near Berryville, Va.

This one was dug in Wilmington,NC. Several CS buttons and quite a few Gardners were dug with it.
Thanks for the ID
