Danny’s dear wife called me this morning to inform the leadhead community that Danny passed away last night. He had fought a long hard fight against numerous ailments, most recently stage four lung cancer he was diagnosed with a week and a half ago.
He will be cremated, but funeral arrangements are incomplete and rather than force Peg to rummage around for a phone number for the Funeral Home, I suggest we all Google this tomorrow and find the service details.
I told Peg we will raise a toast to Danny at Franklin. A few years ago we had a big bullet collector get together there and Danny’s eyesight was so poor that he started to drink from a bottle of Tobasco sauce instead of his beer. We stopped him, but maybe that Louisiana transplanted from Georgia many years ago knew what he was doing. I like to think he did.
Danny, we will miss you.

RIP Gator. Danny was one of the nicest, funniest guys in the CW collecting community and he will be missed. I will forever be proud to call him my friend.

Godspeed & RIP.
Peg's call this morning was totally unexpected and received with great sadness. Danny was one of the best of the best people I've had the privilege to know over the years. Peg appreciates the kind words, memories and offers to help.
If anyone needs a mailing address PM me and I'll send it to you.
VBR to all,

I am very saddened.
I will never forget Danny and Peg, and our dinner together in New Orleans once upon a time. Danny gave me a gift of lead that night, which from him was really gold—a true Civil War alchemist he was. Danny will be missed.

Rest in peace, Danny. Missed him on the forum the last so many years.

I got to know Danny on the forum several years back and he will be greatly missed. It was a sad day when his eyesight prevented him from following a great love and hobby of his "relic hunting and collecting." You brought a great sense of humor to the forums you were members of an I enjoyed many phone conversations on different aspects of bullets. Rest in Peace Danny and my prayers go out to your family.

My reply here was delayed because I’m on Day 7 of a flu-like virus. I got the standard anti-flu shot back in mid-October, so theoretically whatever I’ve got isn’t “the” flu.
I had pleasant communications with Danny in the forums. He will indeed be missed. I've prayed for his soul and for the comforting and uplift of his family.
Regards,
Pete

I always counted on Danny to tell me who was who among his favorite country music artists like George Strait and Ronnie Milsap. Without Danny here as a guide, I have to resort to more of my genre to find him a tribute song. Knowing he was a fine Christian man, I hope this is ok:
