Description:Double slotted Bormann time fuse used by Union artillerists. Both sides used these, but the Confederates had so many problems with theirs exploding in their gunners' faces, that they stopped using them at the end of 1862. The Union added a reinforcing bridge to help handle the wrench torque that segments the slot in two which is why this is called a "double slotted" type.

These are hard to find dug in round shape because the metal is soft and easily distorted.
