Description:We are often asked for good examples of Bormann fuses and they are so hard to come by. I just picked this one up and it is super nice; nearly as nice as the one in my collection. It was found in North Carolina.
This example is no doubt Confederate. It is the style known as the high lip and is only CS. The face is quite good with only light ground action on it. The number 1 is chipped off, number 2 is very visible, number 3 is visible, number 4 is visible and number 5 is where it was punched so not there. The punch mark is small and looks as much like a small crack as anything. This fuse still has the digger's dirt on it and I am sure would clean up better but for now I'll leave it as is. The threads are quite good and might possibly screw into a shell. If not it wouldn't take much to get them to thread. The bottom is good as well with the horse shoe in tact.
