Description:Long pattern USN watercap fuse dated 1863. Complete with centercap and a slight bend to the fuse stock from being blown out of a shell.

These are 3.5" long and much less common to see than the normal 2.5" long ones. These went in really big shells like the 15" balls fired from Monitors and for that reason they are sometimes referred to as "Monitor style." It came out of a large old collection of relics recovered in the Fort Fisher, NC area.
