Description:The Hotchkiss case shot required a specialized fuse adapter to work and so to cut the risk of using that kind in a common shell (no case shot balls), these were made with a narrower diameter at the threads.

I have cleaned the dirt from the threads to be sure the threads are good enough to put in a shell which they are.
