Description:The Parrott percussion fuses did not work well and so a new design was patented in March of 1864. By then the US was pretty much done with Parrott fuses and preferred Hotchkiss and Schenkl percussion fuses. As a result of these things, these are uncommon. This one is in especially nice condition.
