Description:Here are two decent fuses showing the ravages of battle but not deteriorated by time.
The brass fuse is a typical Hotchkiss time fuse adapter most likely from a 3-inch Hotchkiss shell. It has an impact mark on the face but otherwise is in decent shape with a nice dug patina.
The white metal fuse is a Bormann time fuse from an exploded cannon ball. It is the type with what is known as the double slot for the fuse wrench. It is likely from a 12-lber ball based on the recovery area. Being made of zinc and lead these are often very corroded when found. This one still has a very smooth surface and the number "5" is very clear on it and the threads are solid albeit bent from the explosion.
A good relic set with provenance for a battlefield display. Delivery to a show or shipping will be $5 in the US.
