Description:This is an uncommon variant of what we normally call the "Read style" copper fuse adapter in that it is only used in case shot shells (aka sideloaders). The small hole in the bottom is the key difference between it and the type used in common shells.

Has a pleasant patina and is in nice shape.

At Chancellorsville, the long range bombardment of Yankee troops played a key role in their retreat. This is from that historic location but recovered on private property East of the tavern.
