Description:This is an old, well used wood splitter also known as a maul. These were used to split firewood and logs into rails. As you can see, this maul got a lot of use. The hole in the center held a wooden handle. Here is a modern example:

The back end is flattened and split from using a sledgehammer to drive the wedge deep into the wood when splitting large logs.
This was reportedly found in a campsite but there was no note where. It would make a nice item to add something different to the collection.
Relic is solid and cleaned and coated.
