I also have a stamped cover written to the Governor Isham Harris of Tennessee at Memphis just prior to the battle. He was the staff officer who would take the mortally wounded General off his horse later this same day and ask him, "General, are you wounded?" to which General Johnson replied famously, "Yes... and I fear seriously." He was the highest ranking officer of either side to die in the war.
