Description:19" long vent prick for piercing the powder bag through the vent of a cannon. This one must've been for a big Columbiad gun.

This style with the wire twist on the "handle" is generally believed to be Confederate. The twisted part is obviously hand hammered and the end of the twisted wrap wire appears to have snapped off making it a little shorter than normal.
