Description:This is an artillery saber from a friend. It has wonderful patina especially on the brass handle. Very deep and rich. The wire and leather on the handle are original. This sword undoubtedly was used in the war as it shows sufficient signs of use such as wear on the drag and handle but not neglect or abuse. Unfortunately the date is visible; only enough to make out "186"; the last number is not visible. The stampings appear to have been like the ones on the other artillery sword we have listed.

Note the gold color on the sword blade is from the flash. The blade has a nice seasoned steel look. Any questions, please let us know.
