Description:This is a really nice Confederate Cast "I" button. There are no dings or nicks and it has a nice patina. This button is described in Albert's book on page 376 with a picture on page 375. Unlike the one pictured this example has a recessed area inside the outer ring. The shank is perfect exhibiting the drilled hole which is still full of dirt from the day it was dug.

Note the first image was taken with a flash and made it seem lighter than it appears due to the flash bringing out the light colored dirt. The other two images are without a flash and it appears darker and bluer than it is. Sorry for the confusion but it in reality has a nice chocolate brown color.
