Description:This is a nice example of the Parrott shell cut in half to show the powder cavity, sabot construction, fuse hole with ledge on bottom to support the slider and the fusing. The fuse clearly shows the cap and slider. There are a number of air bubbles to be seen in the bottom of the shell around the sabot. This is because the shell is cast fuse hole down and any air bubbles rise to the sabot end before the iron hardens.

Shell half is inert, cleaned and coated.
