Item Number: F00092

Item Title: Very special section of an unlisted type of 3in Hotchkiss case shot shell

Price: $225

Shipping: Not included

Provenance: US

Type: Late war Hotchkiss case shot shell

Size: 3in

Sabot: Lead driving band

Fuse:

Book:

Location Recovered: Spanish Fort, AL

Description:This shows a fuse system that has not been documented in the reference books. Prior to this there was a tube that fit inside the adapter and connected to the powder shamber. This replaces that very small diameter tube with a white metal sleeve. You can see a slight taper at the end of the adapter to fit into this innovative sleeve.

This one has it all and proves you cannot judge a book by its cover as the outside is pretty gnarly. I think this half or the other (which I am keeping) are going in an upcoming book, at least they were photographed for it and I don't know of another example of this type.
