Description:This ball was recovered from Lumpkin's Battery and has a pentagon shaped polygonal interior. The lines of weakness were to enable the shell to burst into more uniform fragments. You hardly ever see the 6pdr size for sale -- D&G have it as a rarity 8 shell. This is the least common size of Mallett's polygonal shells.
