Hard-to-find "Hessian" with impeccable provenance found behind the 10 gun battery at Fort McDermott in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Of over 28,000 bullets dug by this one fellow at Spanish Fort and Fort, Blakely, only four were Hessians. Very few were what we would consider to be rare bullet types at all.

This one looks to have been "lightly" fired or perhaps unloaded from a gun because there aren't many markings on the bullet and it still retains its overall shape.

Comes in the envelope it was put into after the day's hunting in 1973.
