Description:
The story I heard is a black powder shooting club got Reid McKee drunk and convinced him they had recovered a rare, previously unknown Civil War bullet, dubbed the Trenton Arsenal bullet. In reality this group had drilled out the bottom of a modern bullet mold to add throw weight to the bullet to improve its accuracy. This is why the teat looks like a drill bit!
This type found its way into the bullet book and the rest is history. While it has been debunked as a true Civil War bullet, they are rare and an interesting part of Civil War bullet collecting history.
