Description:I picked up a small collection at the Dalton Show that contained this Hotchkiss shell. It is a nice example that clearly shows the 7 lands-n-grooves of the ordnance rifle that fired it on the nice intact and sabot. There is a hole in the sabot where the shell was disarmed. The brass time fuse adapter is in very nice shape with great patina. It appears to be an undated base. The shell has not been run through electrolysis but was hand cleaned and has pretty good iron. A very good example for the money.

Shell is inert and coated.
