Description:A very popular shell the Read with bourrelets is often one of the first shells collectors pick up for their artillery collection. They are distinctively CS and due to their frequent use are reasonably priced compared to many CS projectiles. This example has great iron for a shell under $300. While it only has half the copper sabot it has a great display side showing the sabot with good rifling. The sabot is the type that was turned on a lathe on the inside giving a groove to help aid expansion and it shows with the great rifling. The bourrelets are nice and crisp. The fuse is also very good showing only one ding from impact during the heat of battle.

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
