Description:First let me apologize there are no images on this shell. Due to the weather I haven't unpacked from the Franklin Show and it will be a couple days before I can get to it. I will send images if requested unless it sells. So for now the picture of the cannon in the snow falling at Kennesaw Mountain Military Park will have to suffice. :)AC
This is a pretty nice Hotchkiss shell for the money. I bought it from a guy at the Gettysburg Show who said it was a local shell but he didn't remember where it was dug. He owned it a lot of years and got worried as it was disarmed so brought it to the show to sell. The only negative is a ding on the nose where it impacted a rock. The iron is uncleaned but only shows a light rust surface. I think it would clean up pretty good. The sabot is quite nice and white. I don't recall if you could see any patent dates on the base.
Shell is uncleaned but coated and disarmed.
