Description:A neat item we've rarely offered, this is a bar shot for the 8 pounder gun. Due to the recovery location and crudeness it is believed to be US made.

The half-shot on each end are about 3.9 inches in diameter with solid iron. the projectile weighs right at 9lbs. The shot has the square wrought iron bar holding the cast ends in place. One neat part aspect of this shot is the square bar was set so deep in the shot mold that it shows through the end of one of the shot.

Note there is some old painting from a prior owner or museum along one face of the bar.
