Description:This is the one everybody wants owing to its distinctive football shape and rarity. These are only found along the Mississippi in Louisiana, mostly Port Hudson where this one was recovered. They were really only used in that siege and nearby -- fired from the Dahlgren rifle aboard a select few Union naval vessels.

I bought this one several years ago from our good friend Leonard Draper for $900, and it has been in my personal collection ever since. I have gotten more than the $105 loss I am taking on it in terms of enjoyment! Jack Bell lists this as a rarity 9 projectile, and I agree it is a very rare bird to find.
