Provenance: CS

Type: Case shot shell

Size: 12pdr

Fuse: Copper time fuse adapter (unscrews)

Book: Dickey and George (1993 Edition) Page 43

Location Recovered: Petersburg

Description:Rare late war type of 12pdr case shot. I think most of these were made at the Eagle Machine Works of Richmond and many are stamped AR for the proprietor's initials (Adolphus Rahm). I do not see the letters stamped on this one, but there is no doubt the brass underplug is original to the shell. Has light period striations from having been fired. The copper time fuse adapter unscrews which is a nice plus. D&G list this as a rarity 8+ shell.
