Description:This is about as cheap as you can get an artillery shell with one of Tom Dickey's famous markings indicating it was found in Vicksburg.
Vicksburg is famous for the variety of Hotchkiss found there including those for the 14-pounder James. As designed when the shell went off the thin walled nose blew out allowing the case shot to spray forward. This one also lost the lead band sabot.
Condition is uncleaned as it would remove Dickey's number to run it through electrolysis. It has been wire brushed and coated.
Shell is disarmed.
