News

Just posted some nice items out of the South Carolina museum group I brought back yesterday. This may well be our last postings before the Wheaton Show next weekend (4/29) and Mansfield the week after (5/6-7). We hope to see you at one or both of the shows. We will have anice cselection of canister rounds at Mansfield. These are very difficult to ship safely so not currently listed here.

We continue to have occasional issues with emails sent using the buy me button on individual listings. If you do not receive a response back quickly, please email or call us directly via the information provided under the contacts tab. Thank you.

Size: 7in

Sabot: Copper ring

Fuse: Wood time fuse adapter for Girardey fuse

Location Recovered: Long Island, SC near Charleston

Description:Jack Bell lists this as a rarity 9 projectile. Relatively few of these were used and most threw their sabots, but this one has a complete sabot with terrific rifling marks. This is the only one I have. There is one chip in the iron right above the sabot from firing. Since these pictures were taken, it has been lightly coated for preservation and is darker now.

This also has the neat wood time fuse adapter with the raised ring to accommodate the Girardey fuses that were used in many of these Hardings.

Recovered by Greg Craven and conserved by David Pearsall.
