Description:Tough to find 3in Hotchkiss shell that took the wood time fuse adapter. These are very early, but some got used as the Union Army scraped the bottom of it's ammo supply barrels on major engagements. This came out of a long time Richmond collection, but the recovery location is lost to me. Tough to get shell -- a type I version of this shell is shown in D&G, but not a type II.
