Description:This is a really nice Bormann common shell which is missing the fuse and under plug. As a result you can see the interior well and also know this is a CS shell by the groove located at the bottom of the fuse threads. This was an attempt by the Confederates to install a washer that would prevent the cannon flame from bypassing the threads and causing a premature explosion. The iron is very slick and the threads are very good. There is also a nice mold seam.
